Why is the Transport Company Liable?

When you purchase a ticket (such as a public transport card or train ticket), you enter into a transport agreement with the carrier. This legally obligates the carrier to bring you safely to your destination. If something happens along the way that causes you injury, the carrier is liable – unless there is a case of force majeure.

This liability is established in Article 8:105 of the Civil Code.
